How to Find a Perfectly Aligned Crystal Singing Bowl Set

There’s nothing like the angelic, healing soundscape of multiple crystal singing bowls layering over each other. It takes you away into deep relaxation, meditation and restoration!

But how exactly do you decide which bowls to play together as a set? It’s more involved than just choosing the notes of the chakras you want to work on or you like the sound of.

To feel confident making your first and next purchase, follow these steps for choosing your perfect crystal singing bowl set.

What to look for in a singing bowl set

In the pre-made crystal singing bowl sets (more on those later) and the bespoke sets I create for clients, these are the key factors I focus on to make a perfectly aligned set.

Set of three different sized Quartz Singing Bowls
  1. Harmonising the notes

When choosing their first bowl, I always encourage people to let go and listen. Experience how each sound makes them feel. Sometimes they end up choosing a chakra they were drawn to or that represents something they wanted to work on. Sometimes they are surprised and choose a completely different bowl.

Do keep in mind that we all have a unique frequency that influences where we feel the singing bowls. A note could make me feel one way and you a completely different way. It’s always best to hear bowls first to check if they resonate with you.

When putting together a set, it’s not just about what each note represents and the effect it has. It also matters how the notes harmonise and how they sound when they are played together. Just like with the keys on a piano, we can create chords that work well together (and some don’t work so well together). We get the best results when we match bowls by their specific cent range. We can’t forget about the musicality of sound healing!

  1. Varying size

The size of singing bowls directly affects their sound. The smaller 6-inch bowls are accelerating so they are felt above the body. The medium-sized 8-inch bowls are centering and felt within the body. The bigger 10-inch bowls are grounding and felt beneath the body. The sizes in between can go either way depending on the note.

When thinking about the sound experience you want to create, having one of each size gives you more variety and creates a dynamic soundscape. You can work the whole body with just three bowls.

  1. How they stack

Different size Singing Bowls and Singing Bowl case

This is a more practical element but still definitely worth considering. If you get three bowls of the same size, you’d need three separate cases to carry them to sessions. If you get three bowls of different sizes, you can stack them into one case which is a lot more convenient for storage and transport.

  1. The theme

We are innately drawn to certain notes but it is also worth considering what you want from your singing bowl set. Are you going for grounding and relaxation? Maybe you’re focused on confidence and using your authentic voice. Or you could be looking to play bowls at the beginning of the yoga classes you teach.

This all influences the notes you choose for your crystal singing bowl set. You could have different groups of bowls for different occasions. That’s why there are multiple themes in the pre-made sets I created for I Know This Girl.

The 6 pre-made IKTG crystal singing bowl sets

These are particularly useful for people who are newer to sound healing and still figuring out the bowls that resonate with them and create a harmonious soundscape. I’ve put together 6 pre-made sets of IKTG crystal singing bowls, taking into account the key factors we discussed above. I’ll walk you through them.

This is a three-bowl set, including a 6-inch A bowl for the Third Eye Chakra, a 7-inch F bowl for the Heart Chakra, and an 8-inch D bowl for the Sacral Chakra. They come together as a blend of soft yet grounding feminine frequencies.

This is a four-bowl set consisting of a 6-inch A bowl for the Third Eye Chakra, a 7-inch F bowl for the Heart Chakra, an 8-inch D bowl for the Sacral Chakra, and a 9-inch A (3rd octave) bowl for the Third Eye Chakra. This bigger 3rd octave is felt below the body, adding layers, depth and flow to the sound healing experience.

This three-bowl set includes a 6-inch A bowl for the Third Eye Chakra, a 7-inch C bowl for the Root Chakra, and an 8-inch F bowl for the Heart Chakra. Play them to feel the flow of loving energy from head to toe.

In this three-bowl set, we have a 6-inch B bowl for the Crown Chakra, a 7-inch G bowl for the Throat Chakra, and an 8-inch E bowl for the Solar Plexus. Balance these three energy points and use your authentic voice.

This three-bowl set brings together three sharp notes which are connected to our endocrine system. Those notes are a 6-inch A# bowl for the Pineal Gland, a 7-inch F# bowl for the Thymus/Upper Heart Chakra, and an 8-inch D# bowl for the Adrenal Glands. It’s all about rebalancing and relaxing.

In this five-bowl set, you can tap into the whole endocrine system for complete hormone rebalancing. It consists of a 6-inch A# bowl for the Pineal Gland, a 7-inch G# bowl for the Thyroid/Zeal Point Chakra, an 8-inch F# bowl for the Thymus/High Heart Chakra, an 8-inch D# bowl for the Adrenal Glands, and a 10-inch C# bowl for the Sexual (ovaries/ testies).

When it comes to choosing your perfectly aligned crystal singing bowl set, some people are called in by the names and some by the sounds. Usually, it’s a bit of both because, with our unique frequencies, we are all affected by singing bowls differently. So whenever you’re choosing an IKTG crystal singing bowl, I recommend following these 4 steps:

  • Watch the video introduction to choosing a crystal singing bowl.

  • Listen to the individual singing bowl sounds to feel which ones resonate. To hear how any of the sets sound when played together, message me and I’ll send you a video.

  • Check out the shop to explore your options.

  • Book a discovery call or in-person consultation for expert guidance and personalised recommendations (and to try out the bowls at my showroom in Bristol). Tell me which notes resonated with you and I’ll prepare sets for us to try out or share videos of how different bowls play together to help you connect with your unique set.
